The cost of photography accounts for the following expenses to a photograher:
1) Equipment ($3-$6K+ depending upon which lens(es) are utilized)
2) Time spent taking photos
3) Time spent editing photos (depending on the project it can take 14-20+ hours)
4) Editing software
5) Software to provide a beautifully curated and personal gallery to share with family & friends
6) Scheduling software
7) Items that add value to the photos- swaddles, props, etc.
8) Travel time
9) Permits (if needed for specific locations)
10) Education
11) Equipment rental fees
etc.

As you can see there is a lot of time, sweat, and love that goes into making sure your keepsake photos are thoughtfully curated for you.
My clients typically spend a minimum of $250 in total for sessions and prints.
